Pensacola, FL

This week I attended a conference in Pensacola, Florida. I left Columbia, flew to Atlanta, and then flew to Pensacola around 11:30. They are an hour behind, so I actually gained an hour! The flights weren't too bad, and both were short which was good, I can't sit still for too long. Anyways, I had called a taxi service when I was in Atlanta, which I have never ridden in a taxi except for in New York City, and I had never had to call her a taxi. Anyways, I called the hotel and the remanded, BOB. I called Bob and told him when to pick me up and everything, and he said okay and that he was going to text me a picture so I knew how to find him. Again this was my first time calling a taxi company so I had noooo idea what to expect. This is the text I got....

He ended up being a super nice guy, and even had a sign at the airport with my name on it!! Haha!! I only cost me $30.00 to go 12 miles, but apparently that is a good rate. I called the shuttle company and they said $60.00.

Anyways, my conference didn't start until 2:00 so I went to Subway trip #1 for lunch and went up to my room. This was my wonderful view as I looked out the window. Yes, ocean front...sort of, behind the huge farce wheel. Actually, Pensacola is an island, so the beach was in front of and behind me.

As you can see the clouds moving in. My conference started and the lights kept going in and out on the speakers. Finally the rained stopped and I was able to sneak in a run when our classes finished for the day. Throughout the next couple of days I made 2 more Subway trips and had several good runs. Here are some pictures I took on my runs.

(This is all I really needed on my trip...hehe. The only candy that made it back was a few Nerds)
Right before the sun went down one day.
 A trolley/bus stop...so much cooler than ours!
A super cool house that I saw.
I made it to one end of the island.
The next day I made it to the other end...well almost!

This was the street I stayed on.
 Another cool house...
This was my favorite house I saw...reminded me of a football helmet.
This was a bird staring at me for skipping one of my last classes to go to the beach!!! SHHHH...don't tell anyone!

Overall the conference was good and I liked Pensacola, but I wish Ben and the girls could of come with me. I watched other children and parents play as sat there "all by my byself". It was nice to get away, but I got bored after the first 5 minutes. I didn't like having to sit on the beach, in my hotel room, and eat all by myself. The conference its self was good and informative. I got to drive a little car wearing impaired driving goggles, that was pretty cool and hear some great speakers. Finally, Thursday Bob came and picked me back up and I spend the day in airplanes and airports. Ben and the girls picked me up from the airport and we headed home. I came home to a mostly clean house and dinner for the night, I have such a good husband! Next trip, I hope that Ben and the girls can come to!!!
