Hanging with the Girls

After a month of being out of town each weekend we finally stayed at home. My friends came over on Friday night, which was great because we can't really go anywhere with the girls. We grilled out and played games while the boys sat outside and talked about who knows what. We played this game called "Things" which was really fun even though I'm never good about coming up withsomething  funny, but it's just cool to watch us play because we all know each other so well. They stayed until about 12:30, which was great until a few hours later when I had to get up and run at 5:15 am.

Had a good long 15 mile run in the very humid weather and then came straight home to take the girls to the zoo. I gave Ben the day off for having the girls during the week when I was gone. We got there early and there was hardly anyone there. We were able to see the baby flamingo and penguin. They got to ride on the train and even feed the giraffes.



After the zoo, ME and I went to The Target (as ME calls it) and found those fake earrings that we used to have growing up. You can't really see them in the picture, but she was going crazy over them. The girls also discovered popcorn. Frosty and fries for lunch and popcorn for dessert...nothing wrong with that!

Saturday afternoon we went over to my parents to go swimming. The girls are finally not scared of the pool and will jump right in now. We even had our first "holy crap" moment when ME decided to jump in twice without her lifejacket. She learned very quickly that she needs to learn how to swim if she wants to get in without her lifejacket.

Later that night, I had to work at a race for the racing team called Hot Summer's Night. Ben brought the girls down to do their first race. Grayson and ME did the 100 meters and then ME did the 400 also. Before we left the house she said, "I'm going to race and win some money!" Smart kid, don't know where she learned that from. At the end of the day...I wore them out and they wore me out!!!!

Sunday we went to the park and grocery shopping. We finally were able to clean up the house some. Sunday afternoon we went back to my parents pool to swim some more and celebrate Big Dan's birthday. He made the best peach daiquiri's...mmmmm. And then we have steaks (well I had chicken), potatoes, and salad for dinner. Overall a good weekend and the girls were go much fun to hangout with!!
