Cake Pop Pans

This weekend we had a "Sip and See" for Laura, my sister-in-law, and baby Mason. My mom got me some "Cake Pop Pans" for my birthday. I thought I would try them out for the party (more pictures to come from this weekend tomorrow). So I looked and looked online to try to get some ideas, I ended up using brownie mix rather than cake mix. They didn't look beautiful, but the kids loved them and they were easy to eat.

Here is what the pans look like. Each pan came with the sticks for the "pops". Note the cover and what they are suppose to look like! Hehe!

I added these pictures...this would be Grayson and ME trying to help me with another dessert. This is about the time they started putting there entire hand in the peanut butter jar.

Back to the cake pops, so this is what they look like inside. I poured the brownie mix into one half of the pan and then put the other part on top. They came with little locks on each side to make sure the pans stay together.
Here they are after they were cooked, perfect little brownie balls.
ME, Ms. Riddle, and Ben all helped me put the final touches on the "pops". We used white chocolate and sprinkles.

Here is how they turned out. The sprinkles really hide our mess ups, but I still think they turned out cute and they tasted good, which is what really matters.
Here are two pics of some of the other stuff we made. There was a whole other table of more food.

Peanut Butter

Anything with Peanut Butter in the title always makes me do a bouble take. (Plus it doesn't sound to bad for you)

PEANUT BUTTER FRUIT DIP
  • 2 cups skim milk
  • 1/2 cup light sour cream
  • 1 (3.4 oz) package vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
Whisk milk, sour cream and pudding mix together until smooth.  Next stir peanut butter and sugar into the pudding mixture and mix until well blended.  Serve with sliced apples, bananas, strawberries or whatever fruit you choose!

Enjoy!

Summer Shoes

Tonight my plan is to take the girls to get some summer shoes. They have been wearing the same shoes everyday and poor Grayson is still wearing her winter shoes, because she don't have any that fit. I started looking at the Target website to get some ideas, and I found the "Jelly" shoes. Every girl know exactly what I'm talking about. They have been around for YEARSSSS. I can remember begging my parents to let me where them. ME will not wear just any shoes, she has to like them at the store. I have a strange feeling this is what we are going to come home with.

And not the really cute ones below...

At least one child will hopefully look cute!!!

St. Patty's Weekend

The weekend came and went, but we had a great one! My in-laws kept the girls ALLL weekend, which was a blessing. We just needed time to rest, clean the house, and just spend time with each other. Of course the weekend was full of things to do. Ben and I went to dinner Friday night, which never happens. Saturday morning I did the St. Patty's Day race and Ben actually got to come and watch. When we both had finished our exercising for the day we went to lunch and then actually came home and took a nap, it was wonderful. That night we went to a wedding, which was fun. I just really liked being able to wear my new dress!! :) Sunday we cleaned some and I went to a wedding shower. Sunday night we went out to the hunt club for dinner and the girls played and played. We had to drag them out of bed this morning. All and all we had a wonderful weekend, thanks again to my in-laws!!

Friday, both girls had a St. Patty's Day party at school. Here are some of the pictures they sent me from school. Also, a picture of Ben and I after the wedding, ignore the grave yard in the background.

Snuggle Time

Since the girls rarely snuggle with me anyone, at least I have one baby that will. As she was lying with me, she kept licking my cuts...so sweet!!!

Pacing

In Columbia this weekend, there was the first Columbia Marathon. The last time a marathon was here, was for the U.S. Women’s Olympic Trials Marathon back in 1996 and 2000. The course was two loops and went up every hill in Columbia. I didn't run the race, but I was a pacer. I was supposed to pace the 3:15 marathon group, which is a 7:27 pace. Another pacer and I started at mile 11, to get the feel of the group. I don't know how runners finished the two loops; we were struggling after just doing one loop. I realized that the few guys around us starting slowing down, so I did the same. I don't know how much I helped them, but I could just feel their pain. I wanted to lend them some roller blades, which still would have been tough on these hills. I kind of regret not doing the race, since it was in Columbia, but I did enjoy being there for some of the other runners in the Columbia area. There were a few things that needed to be fixed, but that's what happens on the first year of a marathon, maybe next year I'll consider doing it! (my body DOES NOT like HILLS though)

Another cool part about the race was I knew the winner!!! She is actually blind in one eye and can only see a little bit in the other eye. A few of the guys I run with ran with her. She is one of the best people you will ever meet. I have only talked to her a few times, but I just can't imagine running without being able to see. She runs the same 1.5 mile loop around her neighborhood in order to train. She does come to several of the races, but her mom and husband drive her around the course to make sure she knows where she is going. When you see her run, it really makes you think about the love of running and makes me want to dream big! The picture below is her and Frank (he ran with her the second half of the marathon), just one word comes to mind, "Awesome".

Tsunami

To finish my birthday weekend, the gang went out to Tsunami for dinner. The suchi was wonderful, well don't ask Ben.

Birthday Continued...

My birthday is over, but of course the party will continue. Last night we went over to my parents house for dinner. We had wings and wing chips, my choice of course! For dessert, they surprised me with a cookie cake!!! It was so sweet of my brothers and their friend, as well as Jean to come over and help me celebrate. My brothers gave me a very nice rain jacket, which I really needed, and it's raining today so of course I'm wearing it. My parents were in Charleston this past weekend, which turned out good for me, because my parents got me some super cute clothes. I didn't take any pictures, because I haven't tired them on yet, but here's a preview of some of the stuff.

I had to add a picture of the cake...isn't it beautiful!! This was before ME got a hold of it.

North Face rain jacket my bros got me. They did an awesome job picking out the color, I love it!!

YAY for more TOMS!!!! These are going to be perfect for summer. Aren't they cute??? I have never seen this style before.
The accessories that go with my clothes that I got!!

Happy 28th Birthday to ME!

The day isn't over yet, but so far I've had a good birthday. This morning my birthday present to myself was not setting my alarm to get up to run. I think Buttercup was disappointed, but oh well, it's not her birthday. It started out as it normally does, ME busting in on me in the shower, and then us all rushing to leave for school and work in the morning. We realized that we were out of coffee and DIET COKE, and ME realized that it was not "her" birthday and screamed all the way to school. Ben's presents to me, were new running shoes and paid for me to get a massage, which I can't wait!

For lunch, Ben took my to Dipratos and it was wonderful. We finished our lunch break by driving around through downtown in the 60 degree weather. After lunch, I came back to work and they had a huge cookie cake for me from Publix. It was wonderful as you can see!!! :)

We had to save some for Ben and the girls!

The best part of the day though was getting to talk to Wes, my brother-in-law. I was checking the mail for work and Ben was in the car when my phone rang, it was a weird number so Ben thinking is was a person selling someone that he could mess with them decided to answer...and low and behold it was Wes!! It was so nice to actually talk to him and it was so sweet of him to think about me and call. The conversation was short, but it certainly brought a smile to my face.

I can't thank everyone enough for all the sweet birthday phone calls, texts, messages, etc. I feel truly loved!!! Tonight we are going to my parents house to celebrate with them and my brothers. Tomorrow night my parents are watching to girls so we can go out to dinner with the gang!!! That's the good thing about birthday's, they normally last longer than just one day.

Yogurt

So the girls love yogurt...but always make a huge mess trying to eat it. So, I found this on pinterest, going to try it tonight. I'll let y'all know how it goes!! All you have to do is put yogurt in a bag, put dots of yogurt on a pan, and freeze for an hour.

Bob Marley

On Pandora, Ben has mine set on a Jimmy Buffett station, so they play Bob Marley all the time. For such a crazy dude, he sure does have some good music and message in the songs.

Tea Set

Of course every girl has to have their own tea set. Grayson got a tea set from one of my mom's friend when she was born, but we didn't have anywhere to put it. A few weeks ago we got a bookshelf for her room, so we put the tea set out. Of course ME thinks it's hers and that she can play with it every time she is in Grayson's room. The pictures aren't that great, but here are some pics I took.
