Deck Part 1

So my wonderful husband decided that randomly our deck needed to be redone. If it were me we would have saved up money and planned a good weekend that we would have time to do, but as you know that not how men operate. Ben asked me, hummmm Tuesday/Wednesday about it and BAME it was going to be done right then and there. Don't worry he will be paying for it. :) This weekend actually worked out great because Ben's parents kept the girls for us. We love spending time with the girls, but it is so hard to get everything done. Friday Ben took the day off and completed the demo of the old deck and started with the new deck. I got off work and met Ms. Riddle half way to drop the girls off. Once the mission was complete I headed home to get to work on the house. Ben and Daniel were still working on the deck late into the night and finally Ben came in for the evening.

Saturday we both got up and ran with the group. Ben and I never get to run together, so it was nice having him run with us. After the run, Ben got right back to work, and headed to Lowe's for probably the 5th time. I folded all the clothes and then went to Walmart, Dollar Store, Kroger, Belk, Old Navy, Academy, etc to get all my errands complete (and everything for ME's party). When I got home it was time to clean the house. I vacuumed, dusted, washed my car and cleaned it out, cleaned out the garage, cleaned the house some more, and then had time to take Butter for a walk. Later that evening, we met my friends for dinner at a new hamburger place in town, Tavern 77, or something like that.

Sunday morning we both got up around 5:30. Ben headed for the backyard to continue working on the deck and I headed out for a bike and run. The weather was perfect and I think I'm ready for the tri this coming weekend. When I returned it was back to cleaning. I finally was able to go outside and help Ben. He was in need of help to. It was hot and he was super tired. Our neighbor, Pat, thankfully came home and joined in the fun. At about 7:30-8 we called it quits. The deck is almost done, only a few more final touches.
