Memorial Weekend

Some cute pics of Buttercup on our walk Friday night!

Saturday morning I got invited to do a race in Lexington, called Jailbreak. I have done the races several times and last year ended up getting third place. Well this year I was on a mission! I wanted revenge back and the stubbornness paid off. I got first place and a new PR with a time of 18:04. I don't even know how that happened. Also, received $200 which was a great prize! My teammates also had great times and came in 4th and 6th out of a crowd of over 700. Go team Strictly!

Saturday the Riddle family headed to the lake along with everyone else in Columbia. We wore poor G out and she ended up falling asleep on the boat.

Since we had Monday off we took a quick trip to the beach. We left early Sunday morning and came back Monday afternoon. The girls had sooo much fun they could actually play with each other and Ben and I got a chance to relax. We spent every hour out on the beach; luckily we get to go back at the end of the week and stay for several days.

ME's Recital

Last year ME spent more time searching for sparkles than dancing, granted she was only 2, but still cute to watch. This year we got to see here twice, once for ballet and then for acrobatics. Watching her little class in both dances was so cute. In the acrobats dance they used little cardboard guitars and in the ballet one she did decide to pick up a feather (better than sparkles I guess).  We are so proud of the ME. She was so excited and even more excited to get so many flowers. As you can see from the pictures, Grayson had to dress up as well, she actually has one ME's costum from last year.

Kenny, Flu, Zoo, Mother's Day

After going to see Kenny Chesney in Nashville, I knew no other concert would ever be the same... tank top, jeans, cowboy boots, walking to the concert from our hotel room, awesome seats, and Kenny playing every song you could think of. Columbia on the other hand…rain coat, regular coat, white pants (I know I know, what was I thinking), flats, driving to and from the concert, bad seats, and Kenny playing only his upbeat songs so people wouldn’t leave.

Okay it wasn’t really that bad. I was just cold and rainy, but I'm glad we went. I really enjoyed tailgating with Heather and Ryan and Nick and Elizabeth. It was just so nice to sit down and relax and have an adult conversion (well most of the time).

(These picture pretty much sums it all up!)
 The girls!
 Oh the boys....
Zac Brown (Ben has all the Kenny pics, I'll post those later)
As you can see the concert was SOLD OUT even with the weather being so bad.

Last week I got to stay home with the G baby. I took her to the doctor on Monday and the doc said she had the flu. Yes, the flu in the middle of May. Of course poor baby just had to suffer because she couldn’t take anything. Luckily my mom was able to help me out and watch her some during the week.
Monday on the way to the doctor.
Of course the dogs were happy I got to stay home.
Thursday, before I took her back to the doctor.

Finally on Friday Grayson felt much better. Of course that's the day Ben and I had off. I took the girls to the zoo because it was so beautiful outside. This time we went to the Botanical Gardens.

They thought it would be fun to run away from me!

Saturday morning did a 10k along with my teammates. I ended up getting 1st, Erin and MC tied for 2nd and 3rd, and Shannon got 4th in the 10k. Theresa got 2nd in the 5k. Another Strictly Running red storm! I won $250 which really helped after Buttercup's vet visit. Not a PR, but 39:16 on a hard course and my back in pain from holding Grayson all week, I'll take that. It was just fun to run with the rest of my teammates and Ninjas girls.

After the race we headed to North Augusta to spend some time with Ben’s parents. We cooked hot dogs over a fire and played outside all day since the weather was so nice. That afternoon Kristen and I took the girls to a Princess Tea. We got to eat snack with Sleeping Beauty and then walk around a meet all the other princesses. Of course ME would only talk to Ariel.

For Mother's Day the girls gave me tickets to see Zac Brown Band in Charleston in October. It's a two day festival and our favorite troublesome duo are also coming with us. The girls also made me a plate and some things for the room. Overall I had a great Mother's Day just spending time with the girls!
