MLK Weekend

Most races are early in the morning and I normally leave before anyone gets up. This Saturday, I actually got to sleep in. I signed up to do the Snowman 8k, which didn't start until 1:30 in the afternoon. That morning we just cleaned the house and got the girls dressed and ready to go. Where the race was had a park and everything which kept the girls occupied. It was sooo nice to see all three of them cheering for me at the end. I ended up getting first place, $200.00, and chicken man running picture. The race was 5 miles, and my time was 30:52, which last April my time for 5 miles was 31:30, so I must be doing something right! Mike, a guy I train with in the mornings came, so we were able to pace each other. Also, I got to wear my new racing shoes, so of course that made me faster!!!

The race pretty much took the whole day, so we finally got back home around 5:00. My friends were coming over for dinner, so we quickly got the house ready for company. I definitely had the "I have turned into my parents" thought as all my friends showed up at our house. They had all been at the beer festival, so were alittle drunk, and were pretty hungry since they hadn't eaten anything. I of course made way to many green beans and potatoes for everyone. Dinner was good and we always love when company comes over. I love that my friends don't mind coming to our house, because we really can't go anywhere without the girls.

Sunday, I got up and ran while the sleeping beauties got some extra sleep. Finally when everyone woke up I took the girls to the zoo. It was so nice outside; we spend over 3 hours at the zoo. Course ME, the model, and then Grayson could care less about me trying to get a picture.

Monday we did take the girls to school for a little while. I washed my car; Ben washed my car, and then waxed it. I shaved and bathed Butter, finished working on Grayson's room, and cleaned the house. I swear days off are almost more work, but it's was nice to have time to get stuff done. Looking forward to a 4 day work week.
