Kid Friendly

The girls are so picky when it comes to eating. Every morning they ask for "marshmallow cereal", lunch they want chips, and for dinner it's either mac and cheese or a quesadilla. Every time we try to give them something different they sometimes eat it and sometimes they don't even want to try it. My first thought, is they will eat if they are hungry, but I guess that's not really the best attitude to have. So my goal is to find other things that they will actually eat and ask for. So I found some fun recipes, that look more "kid friendly" and of course things that I would eat to. (haha)

Chocolate and Peanut Butter Crescent Rolls:

Peanut butter, chocalate chips, and a roll...who wouldn't like that!

Pepperoni Pizza Cups:

Spagetti noodles and hot dogs...course theywould probably want ketchup!

PBJ French Toast
PBJ French Toast With Fruit Smoothies

Peanut butter and jelly along with syrup...sign me up!

I started looking on Pinterest and other places for ideas. I found the normal food that we give them just decorated to get kids attention. Course I'm not very creative, but I guess this is worth a try to. One morning I made the girls "pink" eggs for breakfast, and they ate every bite. The next time I made them they were just regular and they wanted nothing to do with them. Sooo maybe this is the answer.

One of Those Nights

Last night my mom came over and took the girls over to their house. It was only going to be about 30 minutes before our company was going to come over. We put on our lounge clothes, pulled out the appetizers, and had 15 minutes of pure bliss. As we sat there, the house was quiet and I was actually bored. We both thought..."what did we do before children"...and then I thought about this song.

"One Of Those Nights"
She's getting dressed up, putting on that lipstick
Shimmy shaking, right into them cut-offs baby, oh yeah
You're getting off work, cashing out that paycheck
Gotta change that shirt and pick that girl up on her front step
Here she comes now looking so fine
You've been waiting on this night for such a long, long time

She slides in and you roll down Main Street,
You turn right when that red light turns green
Sun sets now, you're half way to heaven
She picks a song, you turn it up to 11
You say, "Do you wanna?" and she says, "Hell, yeah"
So you hit the party, all your buddies are jealous

Someday you'll be looking back on your life
At the memories, this is gonna be one of those nights

Crowded backyard, everybody's laughing
Kinda party, next week you'll say I was there when it happened
Coming up on midnight, bout time to get gone
And then the DJ starts to play your favorite song
You slow dance for 3 minutes or so, and then she whispers, "Baby, let's go."

And then she slides in and she gives you the green light
You hold off 'til you turn off the headlights

Someday when you're looking back on your life
At the memories, this is gonna be one of those nights
Yeah, one of those nights

Full moon through a crack in the windshield
You hold her close and you'll never forget how her heartbeat feels
No, you never will

'Cause someday when you're looking back on your life
At the memories, this is gonna be one of those nights

Yeah, one of those nights
One of those nights
Yeah, one of those nights
One of those nights, oh
One of those nights
This is gonna be, hey
This is gonna be
One of those nights
Oh, oh

Of course time has changed, but we wouldn't change anything! The girls only make us happier and bring us more and more together. I miss being able to go out and do whatever we want, but I wouldn't change what we have.

MLK Weekend

Most races are early in the morning and I normally leave before anyone gets up. This Saturday, I actually got to sleep in. I signed up to do the Snowman 8k, which didn't start until 1:30 in the afternoon. That morning we just cleaned the house and got the girls dressed and ready to go. Where the race was had a park and everything which kept the girls occupied. It was sooo nice to see all three of them cheering for me at the end. I ended up getting first place, $200.00, and chicken man running picture. The race was 5 miles, and my time was 30:52, which last April my time for 5 miles was 31:30, so I must be doing something right! Mike, a guy I train with in the mornings came, so we were able to pace each other. Also, I got to wear my new racing shoes, so of course that made me faster!!!

The race pretty much took the whole day, so we finally got back home around 5:00. My friends were coming over for dinner, so we quickly got the house ready for company. I definitely had the "I have turned into my parents" thought as all my friends showed up at our house. They had all been at the beer festival, so were alittle drunk, and were pretty hungry since they hadn't eaten anything. I of course made way to many green beans and potatoes for everyone. Dinner was good and we always love when company comes over. I love that my friends don't mind coming to our house, because we really can't go anywhere without the girls.

Sunday, I got up and ran while the sleeping beauties got some extra sleep. Finally when everyone woke up I took the girls to the zoo. It was so nice outside; we spend over 3 hours at the zoo. Course ME, the model, and then Grayson could care less about me trying to get a picture.

Monday we did take the girls to school for a little while. I washed my car; Ben washed my car, and then waxed it. I shaved and bathed Butter, finished working on Grayson's room, and cleaned the house. I swear days off are almost more work, but it's was nice to have time to get stuff done. Looking forward to a 4 day work week.

Ben's Birthday Weekend

This past weekend we headed to North Augusta to celebrate Ben's birthday. Friday we just went to work as normal, and then headed there after work. He requested fried cube steak and salad, which were wonderful. Saturday I signed up to do a race in Augusta. I ended up winning and I got a cool "Elephant" picture and a Fleet Feet gift card. The race was longer than it was suppose to be, so I don't know my real time, but it's always nice to do races somewhere different.

This weekend was perfect for just playing outside and hanging out with the girls and Ben's parents. We brought the smoker, so we smoked some ribs and chicken throughout the day. We brought the girls bikes and just had a great time. They got a little hot, so of course all the clothes came off!!!

Sunday we came home and went to my parents house for dinner. Ben requested fried pork chops!!! Needless to say, we will not be eating fried food for awhile. Overall and great weekend with the perfect weather.

Big Girl Bed

Ben and I had to get to a new bed, so we gave Grayson our bed. It's in between a full and queen, so basically she looks super little in that big of a bed. She hasn't quit figured out where to lay in the bed. Ignore the fact that we haven't gotten her a head and foot board yet, we are working on it.

Holiday Break

Ben and I took of several days during the holidays to spend time with the girls, families, and friends. Before Christmas I had my annual get together with my friends. This year we decided to do a brunch and exchange Christmas ornaments.

After brunch, Ben and I and the girls headed to North Augusta to spend some time with his parents. The next day was Christmas Eve, where we always go to Ben's aunt and uncle's house. We went to Mari's and Jason chruch for there Christmas Eve service and then went back to Mari and Jason's for dinner and to open presents. They got both the girls bikes for Christmas!!

That night we drove back home to do Santa at our house. Ben and I stayed up until 2:30 putting everything together. We got the girls a trampoline that took forever to put together (this is when I decided to take a nap). I couldn't get a great picture of all the there stuff or the trampoline. We of course had to leave some goodies for Santa.

Christmas day I of course woke everyone up. We got both girls up and made them wait out in the hall before we let them see everything that Santa has brought. They were sooo excited and it was so cute watching them run into the living room and see all of their stuff. We then of course spend forever trying to open everything that Santa has brought and the girls jumped and jumped until they couldn't jump anymore.

After opening the rest of our presents and getting dressed we then headed over to my parents house to do Christmas with them and my brothers. My parents got them a huge new doll house with tons of dolls that kept them super busy. The girls got some many toys from my parents, family, and friends. It had been so long since they had gotten new toys, the girls were just in heaven. We ate breakfast and hung out for awhile and then added to our next adventure.

We went to Ben's parents house, were there was even more presents to open. Of course we had to get out annual family picture at the top of the stairs.

The girls were pooped.... and the dogs...

We stayed there Christmas Day and headed back to Columbia the day after Christmas. We had to unpack, take down the Christmas tree, do some Christmas present exchanges, and get ready for Grayson's 2nd Birthday Party.

On Saturday, our baby G turned 2. We invited family and friends over for a pot painting party. The invitations were suppose to be flowers, course I'm not the most creative. Her cake, I did in the shape of a flower, I thought it turned out pretty good. We went to Lowe's and got lots of different size pots for everyone to decorate. My mom bought the paint, brushes, and cute little aprons for the kids.

After Grayson's party we had to get ready for the New Year. Wes, Laura, and Mason came into town and planned a little get together at the Riddle's house. We ate, watched football, shot fireworks, and burned our Christmas trees.

The girls stayed up until midnight with us and welcomed in the New Year. Overall Christmas and New Years was a little different this year, but we couldn't have asked for anything better. We had so much fun spending time with the girls and our friends and families. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful family and we welcome the New Year and all its adventures. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
