Christmas 2011

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We traveled back and forth from Columbia to North Augusta, but it was well worth it because we got to spend time with both of our wonderful families. We even managed to squeeze in church, even though ME almost caught me and her on fire...candle light service...NOT a good idea for a 2 1/2 year old!!! In between the girls opening presents and then them wanting to open open the toys, I got a chance to open my gifts. Side note...I could kill toy companies for putting a million little contraptions on toys that make it really fun to get open.

Anyho my most favorite gift was my bling bling from Ben. I have been hinting for awhile now that I wanted another band for my ring. So thanks to him and Sylvan and DuBose Jewelers here it is!!!

I think Ben was getting tired of me using his phone all the time to get on the internet...so he also got me a Droid 3!!! I'm like an old lady when it comes to figuring it out, it took me about 10 minutes the other day just to make a phone call!!! I love it though, especially the key pad!
From my parents, I just wanted some new clothes and jewelry. My mom and I went down to WISH before Christmas and I picked out a few things. Here is two of the dresses I got. One of them was suppose to be for New Year's, but since we are going to be hanging out outside...it will have to wait!

Ben's parents gave me and bunch of biking and swimming stuff...I know no running stuff this year...crazy! Also, they gave me my first pair of Tom's and I love them. They are the most comfortable shoes I have worn in a long time!!

Baby Grayson

Today is Grayson's First Birthday!!! She was born at 5:35 pm a year ago today. Her real due day was suppose to be tomorrow the 30th. I remember it like it was yesterday. I had on a white sweater and gray dress pants( both maternity of course), because I had to go to work to save every day for when I went out on materity leave. My boss was making me run around trying to get stuff done, because he knew it wasn't going to be to much longer. I noticed that my stomach had been hurting most of the day, but I really didn't think much of it because Mary Elizabeth was a week late from her orginial due date.

The few days before we noticed that Mary Elizabeth wasn't feeling very well, so I made an appointment for 3:00 that afternoon on the 29th. We wanted to make sure she was well before the baby came. So I picked her up from school and headed to the doctor. While we were there, I really started feeling contractions. I started getting really hot and feeling like I couldn't sit still. Of course the doctor's office was super crowded and it felt like we waited for hours. While we were waiting for the doctor I debted just walking out, but my water hadn't broke or anything, so I just figured there would be plenty of time and I was just feeling some early contractions.

So now it was about 4:30 and Ben and I had ridden to work together that day. ME and I got in the car and headed downtown to pick him up. At this point is when I realized it was time. ME kept trying to talk to me and I kept trying to be nice to her and drive with contractions. Right around 5:00 we get to the spot where I normally pick Ben up and I see him strolling across the State House grounds. I get out of the car because my contractions are so strong now I could hardly sit still. I call him and next thing I know he is running towards us. Luckily the hospital, Baptist, that we go to was only a few blocks away. Ben is calling my mom and his parents, that live a hour away, telling them to get here as quick as they can.

We find a parking spot and Ben and ME start running across the crosswalk of the hospital, leaving me way behind. I just remember watching ME laughing from a far, beacuse she thinking this is a game. I finally make it to where they are and the nurses start asking me all this questions that I can't even begin to answer. They take me into a room to get changed and that's when everything happened. I just remember the nurse saying, "it's time". They rushed me over to the delivery room, along with Ben and ME who are scared to death beacuse they have no idea what's happening to me. At this point a nurse came and got ME and they told me that I wasn't going to be able to have any drugs. I just remember looking at  the nurses saying, "I can't do this". The sweet nurses, who didn't even know my name, just held my hand and said you are going to be fine. Then the nurses started telling me not to push, because Dr. Stands had not arrived yet. He was paged and was running across to get here in time. Well he got there alright, just in time to catch our beautiful baby Grayson.

Wasn't the best experience, and it was certainly a pain that I will never ever forget. But we recieved a healthy baby and that all that matters. And now that I think about it ME wouldn't have be there more than likely, but it was nice to have the whole family there to see Grayson.

With that whole crazy story, it still makes me sad to know that this is our last little baby. I know she's one already, but she still seems like my little baby. So in the words of ME, "Happy Birthday Baby G money"!!!

As you all know...I'm kindof in love with Kenny Chesney!! This is one of his newer songs, and I could listen to it on repeat all day!! Plus, even more good news about Kenny Chesney. His tour this year is also going to be with Tim McGraw, two of the best singers in one place. Who could ask for anything better? So with that said, Ben and I are going to try to get tickets for the concert in Nashville, that way we get to see one of my best friend, Cirbey, and go to a get concert. Th e only problem is we have to wait until June. Better start saving now.

Coming up with a blog name!

So I told my wonderful husband that I was thinking of starting a blog. I knew that I wanted to use a Kenny Chesney or Jimmy Buffett song title (of course) for the name. When I asked him about it...this is what I got.

1. The fattest knight at King Arthur's round table was Sir Cumference. He acquired his size from too much pi
2. A rubber band pistol was confiscated from algebra class, because it was a weapon of math disruption.
3. The soldier who survived mustard gas and pepper spray is now a seasoned veteran.
4. Two fish swim into a concrete wall. One turns to the other and says 'Dam!'
5. A hole has been found in the nudist camp wall. The police are looking into it.

The crazy part is, he actually made all of these up! Welcome to the Riddle Family blog...more to come when I figure out how to work this!
